New Nepali Short Film ” DHOKA RETURN ” For Social Awareness

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Kamal Thapa, has directed the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to blacktop all the roads within the Ring Road in a time-bound manner.
Thapa issued this directive in course of a visit to the KMC office today to acquire information about the performance and development management.
“Kathmandu would really look like the capital city only when it is clean, green and bright,” he said. The Minister for Local Development also suggested implementing the integrated development projects from the centre while undertaking the small projects by the Ward level.
KMC Chief Executive Officer Rudra Singh Tamang briefed Minister Thapa about the KMC’s annual programme, projects under implementation, earthquake impact management and the development aspirations of the denizens among other topics.
“We could not demonstrate the outcome due to the large number of partners in development management and the duplication in works,” CEO Tamang said, stressing on the integrated development model for the development of the Kathmandu Valley.
Chief of KMC’s Physical Infrastructure and Construction Department, Dr Uttar Kumar Regmi said public participation-oriented programmes have not been run in the inner Wards of the metropolis whereas projects worth more than Rs 80 million and based on public participation were being run in the remaining Wards.
Chief of the Heritage and Tourism Development Archana Shrestha informed that Rs 110 million has been allocated in the current fiscal year for carrying out works on the construction and repair of cultural heritages.
